There is no doubt that quite a number of people encounter difficulty in trying to join online meeting and webinars via zoom. The following tips will help us to improve our connections and desires to join virtual meetings.
1. Change your phone from 3G to 4G if you have not done so. Though 5G is still the best but we are yet to have it as a country.
2. MTN is having the least connectivity of all the available networks. Use Airtel or better still GLO if you have one. However, whichever network, you still need to improve your connectivity.
3. Environment determines your connectivity sometimes. Please locate an area where Mast is not too far away.
4. If you are in a low elevated area, move from there to a higher elevated area. From ground floor to top floor of a building. Reception is better with higher altitude.
5. You can also change location by moving few meters away from where you are.
6. Upon connection to zoom for instance, if you using phone, click “call over Internet” to activate your audio and if you are using your desktop or laptop computer, click “join with computer audio” to activate your audio. You can then increase the volume on your phone or laptop.
7. When network is unstable, mute your video and audio to improve reception and connectivity. Only unmute when you are asked to speak.
8. If you don’t know what to do, ask people who know to help you. Don’t resign to faith and blame poor network. Sometimes, it’s not network, some people just don’t know what to do.
9. We must develop interest in getting connected by all means. If we have to join virtual meeting because our promotion depends on it or you are ask to collect money through virtual means, one will do all to get online by all means.
10. The world is moving digital, we shouldn’t be left behind. COVID19 has come to stay. The use of ICT and online meetings will keep increasing. Physical meetings is become less attractive especially with insecurity issues in Nigeria.
