Joseph Adama is a Professor of Agricultural and Bioresource Engineering(Power and Machinery) He obtained his first, second and third degrees from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He worked with the National Agricultural Land Development Authority as Land use Planning and Development Officer; Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as Senior Engineer and now on the staff of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike as a Professor. At the University, he served as Deputy Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, Head of Department, Chairman of College Welfare Committee, Student Staff Adviser, Examination officer, etc. He has supervised many undergraduate and postgraduate projects. He is external Examiner to a number of universities. He was a consultant to Raw Materials Research and Development Council, International Fund Agricultural Development (World Bank) and presently Consultant to Federal Ministry of Science, Science and Innovation on postharvest losses and reduction.
At professional association, Adama has served as Internal Auditor, Assistant National Secretary, National Secretary and presently serving as National Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers. He has also served in several committees of the Institution. He is currently a member and the Editor in Chief of International Soil Research Organization, Nigeria Branch. He has widely in areas of field machinery development and management, agricultural mechanization, tillage, etc. He is married with children. |
