Engr. Dr. Chukwuemeka. Jude OHAGWU is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is the immediate past chairman of chairmen of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, and immediate past Nsukka Branch Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. He had been the undergraduate students’ adviser. He holds a Ph.D, 2017, M. Eng.2010, and B. Eng.2004 in Food and Bioprocess Engineering, Agricultural product Processing, handling and storage Engineering options, and Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, in the Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, and a HND in Animal Health (Veterinary Medicine) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a Japan (JICA) trained personnel in 2017/2018 Knowledge Co-creation program titled: Development and Improvement of Agricultural Machinery for Small Scale Farmers. He has published over 20 peer reviewed journal articles with three patents and more than 10 conference papers. Presently, he is the public relation officer of the southeast region of Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE). He is a registered Engineer. Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), member, Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), member, American society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and a grade I football referee (retired).
Engr. Dr. C.J. Ohagwu conducts research and provides community services at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research interests were thus: Solar Energy/Renewable (biomass) Utilization in Agriculture, Power systems and Machinery in Agriculture, Design, Construction and Performance Evaluation of Product Processing Machine/Equipments, Food Processing, handling and Storage, design and evaluation of farm machineries, and assessment of cereal crop post harvest losses, and tillage research.
Engr. Dr. Ohagwu has served as committee members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN Evaluator/Accreditation team for Undergraduate programmes of Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics as well as examiner for COREN professional interview. He has served as a reviewer to academic journal bodies within and outside the country. He has also been involved in mentoring both male and female undergraduate and postgraduate students in the country and at global level.
Engr. Dr. Ohagwu is the current National Assistant Secretary of The Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE). He is happily married and the marriage is blessed with four children.
