Engr. Prof. Peter Aba Idah

Engr. Prof. Peter Aba Idah is a Professor of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering in the Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering, School of Infrastructure, Process Engineering and Technology, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree (B.Eng) from Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria, Master of Engineering (M.Eng) degree from University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Agricultural Engineering (Agric. Products Processing and Storage Option) from Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nigeria. He is a registered Professional Engineer and has over twenty –nine (29) years of teaching and research experience. He has published over fifty (50) technical papers in his area in both National and International Journals, Conference Proceedings and technical reports and has contributed a chapter in a textbook. He has attended and presented papers in a good number of National and International Conferences and Workshops. Professor Idah has supervised several undergraduate, PGD, M. Eng and Ph.D students and is still supervising scores.

He is a member of several Professional bodies among which are Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers (ASABE). He is currently the Regional Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), North Central Region.

He has served as External Examiner for both undergraduate and postgraduate to several Institutions. He has assessed many candidates for promotion to professorial ranks at many Universities. He has served as reviewer to several National and International Journals.

Professor Idah’s area of research focus include: Postharvest losses reduction in fruits and vegetables, development of agricultural processing machines/equipment, design and construction of agricultural products storage facilities, agricultural wastes management and utilization, renewable energy utilization and value addition to agricultural products among others.
